| Washington Rivers and Seattle Area Fishing Reports Salmon Steelhead Trout Sturgeon August 2009 Fall Salmon and Summer Steelhead This has been a great month for both the kick off of fall salmon and the continued success of the summer steelhead season. Everyone is excited about the huge returns expected this year for Columbia River. The season opened up August 1st and was better than normal with many boats catching limits of coho and a lot of Chinook being caught as well. Now is the time to call and reserve your spot for the Buoy 10 Fall Salmon Fishery. The Nisqually fishery has also kicked off with bang. There are fish to be caught as long as you can get to the right holes. Boaters have been catching 2-3 fish a day and we've even hit quite a few limits of adult Coho/Chinook. Be aware that the current netting schedule on the Nisqually River is from Sunday at noon, until Thursday at noon. We have been consistently catching 2-4 steelhead a day on the Wynoochee floating from both 7400 and Cross Over. The recent rains helped bring the water levels up to guidable/driftable levels. It's like a ghost river with only 1-3 boats a day on the river. This makes for a very nice, quiet and scenic float down the beautiful Wynoochee River. The Cowlitz River has been a little slower than usual this summer but we've managed to pull our fare share of steelies out of the river. Pulling plugs and drift fishing have been equally productive. Fishing Report February 5th, 2009 Floated from 7400 on the Wynoochee River to the White Bridge Boat Launch. Went 3 for 5. Most days we are hooking 2 to 5 fish a day. The Wynoochee is running at 600cfs, with 3 feet of visibility. Steelhead fishing on the Wynoochee River should improve throughout the next few weeks. We are catching steelhead on pink tad pollies and green and chrome brad's wigglers, and side drifting eggs. Springer season's right around the corner. Book now for prime dates. Record runs expected. FIshing Report Jan. 3, 2009 Wynoochee River running at 1600 cfs, water in great fishing condition. Three to four feet of visibility below the diversion dam on the Wynoochee. Fished between Black Creek Boat Launch and the diversion dam. Had a great day of fishing, went 6 for 6. I have available dates for Jan. and Feb. Call Jessica for discounted rates.
