As always Casey was great and really made the trip enjoyable, it is nice to see someone that actually likes their job and brings a great attitude to work. His knowledge is really helpful and refreshing. Again just wanted to say thank you and let you guys know your doing a great job and would be highly recommended to friends, family and co-workers. All my grandson wants to do is go fishing with Papa and Captain Casey again. At my age, one of the most important things in my life is to have these treasured moments with my grandchildren, and this was one of those moments. Casey is an outstanding guide- this was the first time out fishing with a guide for me and he did an excellent job of putting us on the fish and giving us an excellent day on the river..... i will look forward to fishing with Casey in the future for steelhead, |
Lewis River Fishing Guide We fish the Lewis River for Spring Salmon or 'Springers.' The Spring Salmon run on the Lewis River is from April through June. We've had some really good years on the Lewis. We also Fish the Lewis River for Summer and Winter Run Steelhead. The Lewis River is a great alternative to the Cowlitz River since it's often less crowded and the steelhead fishing can be better at times on the Lewis River. There are many points of interest nearby the Lewis River, including Mt. St. Helens, the Columbia River and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The Lewis river, named for an early Woodland settler Cascade range just 20 minutes north of Portland,Oregon. Its waters come from far into the Cascade range draining from both Mt. Adams (Pahto) and Mt. St. Helens well over ninety miles of rich breeding ground for salmon and steelhead. The river currently has about eleven miles hatcheries supporting healthy runs of keepers throughout the entire year as well as an occasional record Tiger Muskie. The Lewis river is one of the premiere fishing rivers in the country with both of the major fishing rod manufacturers(Lamiglas/G.Loomis) located (or born out of) in Woodland. The three reservoirs above Merwin dam(Merwin,Yale,Swift) all have excellent Kokanee fishing as well.
