Get ready for a banner 2025 Sockeye Salmon Season!

Information About Upper Columbia/Brewster Pool/Lake Pateros Sockeye Fishing:

In 2024 there was a record busting return of Sockeye Salmon to the Columbia River.  The return is estimated to have been 761,682 fish, which is the highest sockeye return since the construction of the Bonneville Dam in 1938.  The Forecast for 2024 was 401,700 sockeye which equates to the actual return being 190% of the forecast.

The 2025 Forecast for Sockeye is a whopping 350,200 which is good enough to expect a 4 Sockeye limit!! Lake Wenatchee has a forecast of 94,000 in 2025 and the escapement goal is only 23,000 which means that Lake Wenatchee will also have a 2025 Sockeye fishery this year.   In 2024 Lake Wenatchee received a record 190,117 Sockeye.

Every year we start watching the Spring Chinook and Sockeye Salmon returns at Bonneville Dam. The daily fish counts for Sockeye started showing up in May 2025 already for some of the upriver dams. In general we are looking for an escapement of 65,000 Sockeye over Priest Rapids Dam.  We will all be keeping an eye on the Fish Passage Center starting in mid-June but have every confidence that 2025 will be a great Sockeye Salmon Year.

Where We Fish

Brewster, WA is located in north-central Washington along the Columbia River. It’s a small town with big fishing energy during the summer season — and it's just a few hours from Seattle or Spokane.  Nearby locations include Chehlan Falls, Lake Chehlan, Wells Dam, Lake Wenatchee.  Sometime we do need to move to a nearby location when chasing the King and/or Sockeye run.
